Shanghai Encore! is a collective of musical improvisers making their UK debut, hailing from France, the US, China, Italy and the UK. Each 50-minute performance at the Haldane Theatre is entirely unscripted, with the ensemble spinning up movie-style musical storylines, singing competitions and full-blown improvised musicals – no two shows are ever the same. Backed by live musicians, the music veers from funk, jazz, hip-hop, pop to R&B. Suitable for audiences aged 12 and over, tickets are £10 and audience participation is part of the experience.
