About the show
Unearthed is a new drama by Plush Tiger Productions, set in 1968 when Nottinghamshire housewife Emma Smith traded her kitchen for a coffin, buried beneath the Skegness seafront in a record-breaking attempt. From underground, Emma invites the audience into a subterranean world of Radio Caroline, cream crackers and DH Lawrence. As she battles claustrophobia and public scrutiny, she unearths her past as a Belgian refugee and former nun. This 50-minute show at Studio explores the search for identity, and tickets are £12 with age guidance of 12 and over.
Why see this show?
A haunting and inventive new piece of new writing: a woman in a coffin under Skegness seafront, wrestling with claustrophobia, identity and a past involving a Belgian refugee story and a former nun's life. Unusual, grounded and quietly compelling.
