About the show
TSURU: My Crane Wife is a reimagining of a classical Japanese folktale by Space GIGA Theatre Troupe, in which sound becomes movement. Directed by Erica Yamada, a Toga Directors' Competition award recipient, the work blends rhythm, myth and intimate storytelling into a visceral, cross-cultural experience. It shifts from quiet physical poetry to contemporary dance and a powerful ensemble finale. The show is supported by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and is suitable for audiences from the age of five upwards.
