Mike McAlpine presents The RemAIns of the Butler through the Free Festival at The Attic. Manservant Michael may maintain his composure, but this is a butler in the midst of an existential crisis. Faced with his employer's purchase of a humanoid robot, Michael asks the question no profession can avoid today: can I survive in the age of AI? Agentic AI can autonomously book flights and organise holidays — but can it save the blushes caused by a slip of the tongue at a royal event? Thoughtful, topical, human-made theatre running 55 minutes, free to attend, suitable for audiences aged 12 and over.
Why see this show?
A witty and timely character comedy asking what it means to be irreplaceable when machines can do almost everything. The RemAIns of the Butler is thoughtful, human-made theatre that finds genuine warmth in a very contemporary anxiety.
