Nordic Voices, the world-famous Norwegian a cappella sextet returns to Edinburgh after an absence of 31 years in this 740th anniversary concert celebrating the accession of the Maid of Norway as Margaret, Queen of Scots (1286-1290). A concert in three parts: 12th-century Scottish and Norwegian anonymous sacred music associated with this 740th anniversary is then contrasted by 16th-century music by named Scots and Norwegian composers, to be finally contrasted by 21st-century music by Nordic Voices, inspired by the Maid of Norway.
