Join Liz, on her last morning at Number 10, in an exploration – equally comic and tragic – of the tensions in politics: between ambition and ability, vision and reality, going short and playing it long. Can a fighter ever quit? This award-winning production (Emma Wilkinson Wright, Best Actor, London Pub Theatres Awards 2025) comes to Edinburgh after a West End Transfer to London at The Other Palace Theatre in March 2026.

About the show

Oxia Theatre Company, led by performer and artistic director Emma Wilkinson Wright, brings this one-woman political tragicomedy to Edinburgh. Written by Greg Wilkinson and directed by Anthony Shrubsall, the show places us inside Liz Truss's head on her final morning at Number 10, tracing her rise, her record-brief premiership, and the wreckage left behind. Wright — who won Best Actor at the London Pub Theatres Awards 2025 for the role — delivers what reviewers describe as a completely mesmerising portrait, capturing Truss's voice and mannerisms with precision. Steve Nallon of Spitting Image provides voice work for approximately 30 characters, including Margaret Thatcher. The production played two runs at the White Bear Theatre before a West End transfer to The Other Palace in March 2026.

Why see this show?

A sharp, funny, and unexpectedly poignant evening in which sharp writing and a tour-de-force central performance take you inside the mind of one of Britain's most talked-about politicians. Blending satire, farce, and genuine dramatic weight, it is the kind of show that leaves audiences debating on the way home.

Reviews & press

I certainly did not expect to feel compassion for Liz Truss, which shows how effective the writing and acting was in taking me inside her head.

Everything Theatre, 2025

remains undeniably funny

Theatre Weekly, 2026

A frantic farce that charts the last days of the UK's shortest reigning Prime Minister, this show hints at political tyranny but is overpowered by cheap laughs.

Everything Theatre, 2026

very successful, especially physically, in portraying her, getting the walk and the stance just right!
