About the show
The Kingmaker (WIP) is a solo theatre show presented by 'Mouse' / The Project People at The Green, Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026. Based on a true story, it follows a young New York actress who meets an American Guru and follows him to the desert — where promises of enlightenment descend into a web of sex, death and madness. After 17 years inside a global spiritual organisation, she finally leaves. Sharp, unsettling and darkly funny, this work in progress examines charisma, complicity and the strange seduction of certainty. Directed by Ben Target. It runs for 60 minutes, tickets are £10 (£8 concession), and is suitable for ages 16 and over.
