About the show
The Court 3 is an interactive new writing theatre show by Edinburgh Little Theatre, a semi-professional company, at Committee Room, Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Agnes Sampson stands accused of witchcraft in Edinburgh and is brought to trial for attempting to kill the king. Audiences listen to the evidence, cross-examine the witnesses and delve into the mindset of fifteen-nineties Scotland — then decide the outcome. This is described as the first of the witchcraft trials that condemned over 2,500 mainly women to the rope and flames of persecution to help establish the protestant faith in Scotland. The show runs for 60 minutes, is suitable for ages 8 and over, and tickets are £16.
