About Clifton College
Clifton College, a student and youth company, presents The 39 Steps at Big (End On) during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The show attempts to recreate Hitchcock's classic thriller with minimal props, maximum speed and gloriously theatrical chaos — featuring quick-fire character changes, inventive staging and a runaway train of espionage, romance and mistaken identity. This Olivier Award-winning adaptation of John Buchan's novel transforms the story into a joyous spoof where suspense collides with slapstick, from shadowy spies to Highland chases and daring escapes.
Why see this show?
A young company throwing themselves into physical comedy and chaotic storytelling — this slick, silly sprint through a classic thriller is great fun for families and shows how much imagination can do with almost no props.
