Melanie Gall Presents brings Stitch in Time: A Knitting Cabaret to Theatre 3 at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe — an hour of lost wartime knitting songs rediscovered and given new life. During the World Wars, millions of women knitted for soldiers, and mere days after the first bullet was fired, dozens of knitting-themed songs appeared. Those songs were lost after the wars, but this cabaret concert has preserved and revived them. Audiences are invited to bring their own knitting or crochet and stitch along to toe-tapping tunes. Running 55 minutes, suitable for ages 8 and over.
