About Ruaraidh Murray
Steak Out is a dark comedy piece of new writing by Ruaraidh Murray, performed at the Billiard Room. Set two nights before Christmas, the story follows an Edinburgh granny, her boyfriend, her son and her one-year-old grandson as they rob a butcher's shop in a wealthy Edinburgh neighbourhood of all its best cuts. The heist raises questions of whether they will be caught, whether Christmas will be cancelled, and whether they will end up in prison before the King's speech — or escape with the meat theft of the century. The show contains scenes of violence and strong language.
