Written in 1673 and banned for 350 years for its explicit nature, Sodom is a uniquely roaring and salacious restoration farce. King Bolloxion authorises buggery, his Queen, C*ntigratia, and his loyal subjects must survive the ensuing chaos of the realm. General Buggeranthos reports that this policy is welcomed by soldiers. Prince Pricket and Princess Swivia commit incest. With the court and country reduced to erotic madness, Queen C*ntigratia dies. Amid the appearance of demons, fire, and brimstone, Bolloxinion declares he will retire to a cavern and die in the act of sodomising his favourite: Pockanello.

Why see this show?

One of the most notorious texts in theatre history finally on stage — a gleefully transgressive restoration farce that has been banned for centuries. If you have a taste for the outrageously bawdy and a curiosity about what scandalised audiences for so long, this is unmissable.
