Shakespeare's Big Brother
Big Spirit Theatre Co • Student/Youth company
About the show
Shakespeare's Big Brother places favourite Shakespearean characters — Hamlet, Romeo, Juliet, Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Richard III, Bottom and others — inside the Big Brother House. Performed by Big Spirit Theatre Co, the show asks which characters get on, who gets kicked out first, and who is genuinely funnier. Expect comedy, drama and questions that Shakespeare himself never thought to pose — like whether Clearasil can fix Lady Macbeth's spots. The show runs for 45 minutes at The Sanctuary.
Why see this show?
A playful and accessible concept that works because the source material is so well-known. Big Spirit Theatre Co find fresh comedy in the collision of Shakespearean characters in a very modern setting.
