About the show
Sculpture and Poetry (Legacy) is a physical theatre show by China Coal Mine Art Troupe, running for 60 minutes at the main house on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Set in a surreal world of terracotta figures bound by rigid roles, a defiant cavalry figure breaks the rules and is told he is only clay — not truly alive. Though doubt causes his body to crumble, he moves toward the red sun in his heart, inspiring others to rebel and form a caravan journeying against time through ancient cities, marketplaces, and battlefields. Age guidance is 0+.
Why see this show?
An imaginative physical theatre piece that uses the imagery of terracotta warriors to explore identity, freedom and the search for inner truth. Accessible to all ages and visually striking, it offers something genuinely different from most Fringe shows.
