Charlotte Merriam with imPOSSIBLE Producing presents this queer dark comedy solo show about compulsory heterosexuality and the wedding industrial complex. Bride Thompson has always believed that marriage would make everything fall into place — but now that she is engaged, her weirdness refuses to leave. She is maintaining three anonymous Instagram accounts and cannot seem to come out of her cupboard. Written and performed by Charlotte Merriam, the show examines what happens when you meet the supposed one but are still an online troll lurking under a bridge. Running 60 minutes, at Bunker Two, suitable for ages 14 and over.
Why see this show?
A sharp, self-aware comedy that takes the institution of marriage apart with genuine wit. Merriam's solo voice is distinctive and the premise — a bride undone by her own contradictions — is funnier and more honest than the usual rom-com framing.
