Schola Cantorum, directed by Michael Ferguson, performs Music for the Homeless Jesus at St Mary's Catholic Cathedral as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The recital is inspired by the recent installation outside the Cathedral of Homeless Jesus, a bronze sculpture by Timothy Schmalz depicting Jesus as a homeless person sleeping on a park bench. The programme includes the composition Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet — a composition by Gavin Bryars from the year 1971, based on a loop of an unknown homeless man singing a brief improvised stanza.
