About the show
R/evolution(s) is a contemporary butoh work presented by Dance Base Yokohama and Conan Amok at DB 1. It reimagines butoh for today while carrying its inheritance forward, bringing together Conan Amok — heir to the lineage of Dairakudakan, one of Japan's leading butoh companies — and contemporary dancers renewing the form from within. Grounded in Amok's 'multi layered body' method, developed through a fusion of butoh and sculptural practice, the work explores revolution as both orbit and radical transformation. Deep bass and wadaiko drums create a club-like ritual atmosphere. The work is part of Wings: International Dance Project by Dance Base Yokohama for Emerging Creators.
