About Neysa Killeen
Paywall is a new writing solo show written and performed by Neysa Killeen, presented at the studio venue during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Lizzy is 27 years old and moving back in with her father after her Dublin life unravels. Inspired by the radical investigative journalist Margo Murphy, Lizzy has always wanted to expose bullies in the national press — even if that means working two jobs and renting a mouldy room for €800 a month. But hard work alone will not cut it, and she will need to be ruthless. The show runs for 60 minutes and is suitable for audiences aged 16 and over.
Why see this show?
A sharp, contemporary portrait of a young woman trying to make it in journalism when the system is stacked against her. New writing with edge and dark humour — a story that feels very of its moment.
