University of Manchester Drama Society (UMDS) is a student and youth theatre company bringing their new comedy Muffins to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026. The show is set in a painfully ordinary office where Elaine's life is upended when someone starts stealing her muffins. What begins as a minor workplace grievance spirals into an unhinged quest for justice — suspicions mount, alliances fracture, and passive aggression reaches boiling point. A delightfully absurd comedy about workplace politics, fragile egos, and just how far one woman will go to catch a thief.
Why see this show?
If you've ever nursed a grudge over a stolen lunch, this one's for you. UMDS serve up a sharp, farcical take on office life — big personalities, petty rivalries, and chaos that escalates far beyond any reasonable response to a missing baked good. Razor-sharp humour with real heart.
