About Susanna Hamnett
Mrs Macbeth is a new solo show written and performed by Susanna Hamnett, set in the aftermath of Macbeth's fascist rule. Explanations are being demanded from those closest to the murderous couple — including Margaret, Lady Macbeth's gentlewoman, who happens to share her last name. The show asks whether hearing everything and saying nothing makes a person complicit. Tragic, funny and unsettling, this version runs for 50 minutes at Space 2 and is suitable for audiences aged 12 and over.
Why see this show?
A sharp and unsettling new play that uses the world of Shakespeare to interrogate a very contemporary question: what do we owe when we witness something terrible and say nothing? Solo theatre at its most theatrically inventive and morally rigorous.
