About Mon Espoir
Mind Full is new writing by Lewis Teckkam, performed by semi-professional company Mon Espoir at Theatre 1. It is a surreal, Brechtian and Beckett-esque play in which Conscience, Memory, Imagination and Intrusive Thoughts inhabit a body that needs help with everything — except thinking. The play blends quirky humour with existential thoughtfulness to examine society, disability, politics and the arts, questioning individual and collective responsibilities and imagining the possibility of real change.
Why see this show?
Darkly funny and formally adventurous, Mind Full uses the surreal language of Brecht and Beckett to ask genuinely provocative questions about disability and society. A rare combination of accessibility and intellectual substance in a 50-minute play.
