About Alan Wake

Alan Wake brings a first-person account of male breast cancer to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe stage in this stand-up and spoken word show. The performance covers diagnosis, surgery, treatment and side effects from an angle rarely heard — a man's experience of mammograms, mastectomies and hormone therapy. It explores how men support one another through crisis, and the love of a partner who lets her guard down. All proceeds go to cancer charities. The show finds laughter and lightness without shying away from the reality of the experience.

Why see this show?

A rare and genuinely personal perspective on illness told with warmth and humour — the kind of show that leaves you feeling more human than when you walked in. A good time for a good cause.
