Experience a powerful recorded performance of Kazakh soundrama blending music, movement, choreography and choral voice. Based on Ilyas Zhansugurov’s celebrated poem, the production follows poet and singer Aqan Seri as he mourns Kulager, his beloved racehorse, killed during a race. Director Farkhat Moldaga transforms this story of loss into a meditation on freedom, creativity and those silenced by repression. Featuring music by Steppe Sons, the production brings a classic of Kazakh literature into a bold contemporary theatrical language. Internationally recognised with the Special Award for Stage Innovation at ART-ORDO 2023, Kulager makes its UK debut through Qazaq Seasons.
