Welcome to the party you always wished you were invited to. Step into the heart of a 90s college dorm hang, complete with live musicians and the greatest hits of the decade. Nine girls arrive for one last night together before their lives change forever. With each track played, we get a new glimpse into their world; through impromptu music videos, deep female friendships, and unfiltered emotion by the bucketload. This isn't your typical dance show - it changes every night, with the girls' fates being revealed to them, and you, in real time.

About the show

I Made You A Mixtape is a movement-led dance theatre piece by Response Theatre Company, performed at Big (Thrust) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Nine girls, one dorm, zero filter — the piece is set at a nineties college dorm party where performers respond physically to music instead of text. Using popular songs, the work explores friendship, identity, nostalgia and moments of change. Created by the UK's first Meisner-based movement theatre company, the piece uses a unique method merging acting and movement, so no two performances are ever the same. Funny, tender, chaotic and sincere, it offers an emotionally direct experience shaped by music and memory. The show runs for 50 minutes and is suitable for audiences aged 14 and over.

Why see this show?

A vivid and emotionally direct dance theatre piece that finds something genuinely moving in the music and memories of a shared nineties night — no two shows are ever the same, which makes it feel alive.
