BHS Drama, the Burbank H.S. Drama troupe, presents Hippolytus — a poetic and percussion-based adaptation of Euripides' Greek tragedy Hippolytos — at The Great Hall during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The production uses drums, movement and choral performance to tell the mythic tale of forbidden love between the Queen and her son-in-law the Prince. Inspired by theatre practitioners Jerzy Grotowski, Frederico G. Lorca and Carol Churchill, this student and youth company production runs 75 minutes and is suitable for ages 14 and over.
