Halfway Home
Deliverance Theatre • Semi-professional company
About the show
Halfway Home is a new drama from Deliverance Theatre that follows the rippling effects of addiction and a past life's mistakes. Davie has just been released from prison and is staying with his brother Freddie, who hopes to become a police officer. Caught between them is Laura, an overworked nurse in an underfunded NHS stretched to her limits. Set against austerity-hit Scotland, the play presents colliding perspectives on treatment and attitudes, telling a bold and relatable story of a broken family attempting to mend itself.
Why see this show?
A grounded Scottish drama that does not flinch from the human cost of addiction and the pressures on public services. Deliverance Theatre take a familiar set of circumstances and find something genuinely felt in the gaps between three very different characters.
