About House of Oz and The Farm
Glass Child is a powerful, raw, and emotional work by House of Oz and The Farm that goes beyond fiction and theatre to showcase the extraordinary love between two siblings: Kayah, a young man with Down syndrome, and his sister Maitreyah. Expressed through dance, theatre, and storytelling, the show explores their connection and how their lives have been shaped by other people's perceptions. Maitreyah has watched Kayah be ridiculed or ignored without understanding why. By sharing their own experience, they invite the audience to examine how we meet others and why we search for difference when we share so much in common. Performed at the Old Lab, running 60 minutes, suitable for ages 8 and over.
Why see this show?
An honest and moving piece of physical theatre built from real lived experience. Glass Child asks genuinely important questions about perception, difference and connection — and does so with warmth and courage rather than sentimentality.
