About the show
Forge is a new work by multi-instrumentalist Tom Oakes, presented with Brite Theater at George Mackay Brown Library as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Building on his award-nominated previous piece, Forge sets traditional music against live composition and improvisation, threaded with archive broadcast and new writing by Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir. Stories of resistance surface in sound and speech, with music that changes from night to night. Running for 60 minutes and suitable for audiences aged 12 and over, the show is a piece of music and storytelling theatre.
