Google Holyrood DistilleryAbout Holyrood Distillery
Holyrood Distillery offers an immersive evening experience exploring Edinburgh's darker archives. The journey begins with a rum cocktail before guests discover the sinister history of gin in the Spirits Lab, where they also mix their own Perfect Specimen cocktail while hearing the gruesome story of Southside's most notorious murderers. In the whisky distillery, the tragic story of medieval alewives accused of witchcraft is revealed. The evening ends in the candlelit Cask Room with a Bothy Session and spooky whisky tasting. The event runs for 90 minutes, is restricted to ages 18 and over, and audiences are required to walk and move around during the experience.
Why see this show?
A genuinely atmospheric evening that weaves Edinburgh's darkest history — surgeons, murderers, witches — through real distilling spaces. The cocktail-making and whisky tasting make it immersive rather than just a tour.
