Dye, Weave, Pleat. An innovative collaboration of three textile traditions in Scotland; natural dyeing, hand weaving and hand stitched kiltmaking, each one an endangered craft practice. Cavan Jayne (Cavan Jayne McPherson, colourist, Glasgow), VEVAR (Chantal Allen and Christopher McEvoy, hand weavers, Glasgow) and Acme Atelier (Andrea Chappell, bespoke kiltmaker, Forres). In this talk each maker will take you through their individual practice and the process of combining their crafts together, blending their heritage skills to create contemporary kilts. Hear about what worked, what didn't and what's next.
