COMA is an immersive audio experience in complete darkness. You’re lying on a bunk bed inside a shipping container. Headphones on, lights out. 360-degree sound invites you to take part in a collective experiment: slip into a shared dream on the edge of consciousness. The most surrender-driven of the DARKFIELD shows, and the one that asks you to let go completely. Please remember when you leave to take your body with you.

About DARKFIELD

COMA is an immersive audio experience by DARKFIELD, performed in complete darkness at the Darkfield COMA venue at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Audiences lie on a bunk bed inside a shipping container with headphones on and lights out. The 360-degree sound invites participants to slip into a shared dream on the edge of consciousness — described as the most surrender-driven of the DARKFIELD shows. The show runs for 30 minutes and carries an age guidance of 14+. It takes place in complete darkness and contains themes of coma, medical themes and death.

Why see this show?

Utterly unlike anything else at the Fringe. DARKFIELD's COMA strips theatre back to sound and darkness, asking audiences to genuinely let go — a thirty-minute experience that is strange, intimate and hard to describe to anyone who hasn't tried it.
