About Kismet
Codetta is a devised musical theatre show by Kismet, performed at the Jade Studio. Codetta is a 12 year old girl whose favourite band is The Daffodils, whose best friend is called Suzie and who is searching for her lost toy, Pig. Without warning, she begins to experience strange sexual awakenings, arguments with her mother and an apocalypse of uncertainty. As Codetta's world ends, The Daffodils are there to get her through it all — they are her Gods. Using original music and storytelling, Kismet portrays both the magical imagination and terrifying spirals of Codetta's mind. The show runs for 50 minutes, is suitable for ages 14 and over, and carries multiple content warnings including strobe lighting and strong language.
Why see this show?
Original music, a sharply drawn interior world and an unflinching look at the chaos of early adolescence — Codetta is a pop musical built from the inside of a 12-year-old's mind. Funny, unsettling and genuinely felt.
