Bearnhardt is the musical moniker of Michael Bernard Grayson, a direct descendant of Australian bushranger Ben Hall. Rooted in deep folk and alt-country balladry, Bearnhardt draws on rugged Australian landscapes, Celtic ancestry and Appalachian sorrow to craft raw, cathartic storytelling. His influences include Chris Cornell, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave, Paul Kelly and Eddie Vedder. The music explores exile, inherited ghosts, love, loss and redemption through intimate, cinematic ballads that feel carved rather than written.
