Attila the Stockbroker and Calum Baird bring an Early Music Show to The Concert Room at St Cecilia's Hall, performing for the fifth consecutive year at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026. A self-taught early music punk, Attila plays crumhorn, rauschpfeife, cornamuse, five different recorders, violin and mandola, joined by Scottish singer/songwriter Calum Baird on guitar. Their programme draws from Attila's 2018 album Restoration Tragedy, exploring the tumultuous events in England after the execution of Charles I in 1649 — tales of Levellers, Diggers and Ranters.
Why see this show?
A genuinely rare combination of early instruments and punk spirit, performed free in the beautiful surroundings of St Cecilia's Hall. With stories of Levellers, Diggers and Ranters from a 2018 album, this is history brought vividly to life over 60 minutes.
