About DARKFIELD
DARKFIELD presents ARCADE at Potterrow Plaza — Container 1, as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Drawing on the aesthetic of early video games, this immersive experience places participants inside a shipping container in complete darkness. Using binaural sound and sensory effects, it guides them through branching paths and choices: a more peaceful route or a cult promising a better reality. Multiple outcomes are possible. The experience explores free will, consciousness, and consequence. Runs 30 minutes; not suitable for those with claustrophobia. No latecomers.
Why see this show?
Complete darkness, binaural sound, and branching choices inside a shipping container — DARKFIELD create experiences that are genuinely unlike anything in a conventional theatre. ARCADE is a tight, disorienting thirty minutes that stays with you.
