Afronauts is an all-ages collision of circus, theatre and space adventure from Underbelly, Circus Zambia and Wake the Beast. Set in 1964, when the world's superpowers were locked in the space race, it tells the true story of visionary Edward Mukuka Nkoloso, who aimed to send Africa's first astronauts into the cosmos. His crew consisted of a young girl, two cats and a missionary; his rocket was built from aluminium, ambition and audacity. The show brings this extraordinary tale to life with breathtaking acrobatics and theatrical spectacle. Running for 60 minutes at the Udderbelly, it is suitable for ages 5 and over.
