About the show
A World Apart is a new musical by Frog in a Pot Productions about two best friends since childhood — Kate and Alice — whose lives have diverged completely. Kate is in Australia with a husband, house, child and dog; Alice has an artistic career in London but is lonely. The two struggle to communicate and hide the cracks in their lives from each other. Tensions come to a head at their joint thirtieth birthday party, where they find themselves judged on their life choices. The show features humorous rapid rhyming lyrics and lush jazz orchestrations, exploring decision paralysis, female friendship, the fear of failure and the meaning of home. The show runs for 60 minutes at the Amphitheatre, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and is suitable for audiences aged 16 and over.
