About the show
A FACE is a new writing drama from Rabbit Head Productions, running 50 minutes at Space 1, Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The play retells the story of Helen of Troy, interrogating her agency and responsibility as a woman making choices in a world built by and for men. The show asks whether Helen inspired desire, destruction and death of her own accord, or whether she was herself seduced — a girl waiting for the life expected of her, or a woman taking control. It carries content warnings for distressing or potentially triggering themes, strobe lighting and strong language, and is suitable for audiences aged 12 and over.
Why see this show?
A sharp, feminist reworking of one of history's most reduced women — Helen of Troy recast as the subject of scrutiny rather than its object. Tightly staged new writing with genuine intellectual purpose.
