After losing most of his sight, Tom thought he might never become a dad. But now he is. And he's a bit scared. From nappy changing, choking hazards and losing your toddler in the park, to not being able to read to him, see his changing face or his first goal on the football pitch, this is a hilarious, heartfelt scamper through dadhood and disability. 'Deliciously talented' (Guardian). 'Sends you back out into the world with a spring in your step' (Chortle.co.uk). 'Insightful, hilarious... expertly crafted' (TulpaMagazine.wordpress.com). **** Perth FringeWorld Weekly Award winner 2020.

About Tom Skelton

Tom Skelton's VIP (Visually Impaired Papa) is a solo stand-up and storytelling show about dadhood and disability. After losing most of his sight, Tom feared he might never become a father — but he did, and he's a bit scared. The show moves through nappy changing, choking hazards and losing a toddler in the park, to not being able to read to his son, see his changing face or his first goal on the football pitch. Hilarious and heartfelt in equal measure, it is a scamper through the joys and challenges of disability and fatherhood. Audience participation and strong language are part of the show.

Why see this show?

A disarmingly honest and funny hour about becoming a dad while losing your sight — Tom Skelton turns genuine fear and love into something that sends you out of the venue, as one reviewer noted, with a spring in your step.
