About the show
Tinderbox Orchestra's twenty-piece ensemble returns to Edinburgh Central Library for their Live in Libraries album recording at the Reference Library during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Bringing together rappers, singers, brass, strings, woodwind and a fully amplified thundering backline, the show features new compositions and a cast of multi-genre collaborators. The concert is part of a tour around the UK and Ireland supporting the We Make Music Instrument Libraries campaign — an initiative to get musical instruments into public libraries for free borrowing. Running 60 minutes, suitable for ages 5 and over.
Why see this show?
A twenty-piece orchestra recording a live album in a library — genuinely unusual, musically rich and rooted in a campaign to make instruments accessible for everyone. A 60-minute concert at the Reference Library that's about far more than the music alone.
