A burglar is interrupted whilst at work when the homeowner returns unexpectedly with his mistress in tow. The burglar is forced to seek refuge inside a grandfather clock, while an array of increasingly confused spouses and lovers arrive. Before he knows it, the burglar – apparently the only one not having an affair – is forced to pretend to have multiple wives. If that wasn’t complicated enough, things take a turn when the burglar’s wife joins the party...

A burglar interrupted mid-job is forced to hide inside a grandfather clock when the homeowner returns with his mistress. As an array of confused spouses and lovers arrive, the burglar — apparently the only one not having an affair — ends up pretending to have multiple wives.
