The Life of Mine is performed by the Beijing Quju Opera Troupe in traditional Beijing musical style, based on a novella by Lao She written in the fifties. The story is told from the perspective of a common man — a framer who tries to be good, suffers the loss of his son and the betrayal of his wife, and ultimately joins the police force to survive. English surtitles are provided. The production runs for 50 minutes at the main house and is suitable for ages 5 and over.
