The Legends of Them is a music theatre show produced by Hackney Showroom with Brixton House and Royal Court Theatre, telling the extraordinary life of South London reggae pioneer Sutara Gayle, also known as Lorna Gee. Three moments structure the piece: her radio debut heard from inside Holloway Prison; her experience of the Brixton uprising sparked by the police shooting of her sister; and a silent retreat where she seeks spiritual guidance. Powered by high-octane musical numbers and a virtuoso performance, the show runs for 70 minutes at Main House and is suitable for audiences aged 14 and over.
