The Invisible Spirit
Spirited Productions • Professional company
About the show
Spirited Productions presents a searing yet witty dramatisation of Scotland — its people, places and politics — from 1945 to 1975. The Invisible Spirit opens on VE night in Glasgow's George Square, then follows three decades of Scotland's postwar life: poverty and disease in tenement slums, political scandal, and the fear of serial killers. Based on journalist Kenneth Roy's work, the show runs for 60 minutes and stars Chris Alexander, Fergus John McCann and Elaine Stirrat. Suitable for ages 12 and over; contains distressing or potentially triggering themes.
Why see this show?
A sharp, darkly funny portrait of Scotland's postwar decades, brought to life by three strong performances. It finds humanity and dark comedy in difficult history — the kind of theatre that stays with you long after you leave.
