The Daily Ceilidh is a 90-minute celebration of Scottish and Brazilian culture, beginning with a colourful carnival parade from the Ross Fountain to the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens. The parade is led by the Brazilian Piper Pipe Band from Rio de Janeiro, followed by Royal Scottish Country Dance Society and Batucada Brazil percussion, and dancers from Edinburgh. At the patio area, the Iain MacPhail Ceilidh Band kicks off 90 minutes of dancing beginning with the Gay Gordons. An official event supported by the UK and Brazilian governments, commemorating 200 years of UK/Brazil diplomatic and cultural relations.
