The Dahlia Files is a free experimental theatre and cabaret show performed by Hey Thanks! Theatre Collective, in association with PBH's Free Fringe, at the Chamber Room. Drawing on one of the most famous unsolved cases in true crime history, the show gives voice to the Black Dahlia — a young woman whose mutilated body was discovered in an abandoned lot in January 1947. Part chilling mystery and part experimental cabaret, the show takes audiences through the story and asks them to consider who is complicit. It runs for 50 minutes, is for ages 18 and over, and includes audience participation.
Why see this show?
A free show that blends experimental cabaret with one of true crime's most haunting cases, giving the victim a voice she never had. Unsettling and inventive, it is well worth the 50 minutes for anyone drawn to atmospheric, participatory theatre.
