About The Swells
Roving Mad: America and back in the 1960's is a jazz cabaret written and performed by Malcolm Windsor, accompanied by Jeremy Thorp on piano and Nick Gent on guitar. Windsor tells the story of his adventures in America in the nineteen-sixties in songs and stories, with music from the era including songs associated with Sinatra, Ella and Nat King Cole. The show traces an unlikely journey: from starting work at sixteen in a chocolate factory laboratory, to a scientific post in California, and eventually an international diplomatic posting in Edinburgh. The show runs for 45 minutes at Space 1, suitable for audiences aged 12 and over.
