The New Caledonia String Orchestra is a mountain dulcimer folk orchestra joined by mandolins, hammered dulcimers, fiddles and flute. Players come from eighteen states in the USA plus England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and the orchestra carries an Appalachian heritage. This relaxed, festival-style performance at St Cuthbert's Parish Church features a full orchestra set followed by sets of mixed ensembles, concluding with a full orchestra finale. The event honours the Scots who brought their musical lineage to Appalachia. Admission is free and the performance lasts 180 minutes.
