About the show
Wilmas Productions brings Liam Holmes' new play about the Aberfan disaster to the Edinburgh Fringe at Jade Studio. Set against the backdrop of Aberfan in 1966, as self-proclaimed rugby prodigy Stephen revels in his greatest kick, 150,000 tonnes of coal careen down the hillside towards Pantglas Junior School. The play blends drama, poetry, verbatim and first-hand accounts to explore the 1966 Welsh mining disaster and its devastating aftermath, offering a poignant and honest portrait of a community irrevocably changed by tragedy.
