About Mark Spalding
Pianist Mark Spalding performs Voyage in Space, a solo piano work by Scottish composer Morris Pert. Born in 1947 and passing in 2010, Pert was best known for his session work with Kate Bush, Mike Oldfield and others, but also wrote three orchestral symphonies and much else. This musical voyage into outer space is a chance to hear a significant but perhaps underappreciated figure in Scottish music. The concert runs for 60 minutes and is suitable for ages 12 and over.
